Overview

Boardmatch is the only Irish charity that specialises in charity board recruitment.
They match individuals that are looking to volunteer their time and skills at board level, with charities and not-for-profits that have board and committee vacancies.

Challenges

The non-profit sector is often underserved in terms of technology. Boardmatch needed a modern, user-friendly platform that facilitated smooth navigation for both non-profits and professionals, while handling complex user profiles and search functionalities.

The demand for a platform has to serve a diverse range of users with varying technical abilities. Ensuring a frictionless experience, while maintaining brand consistency and delivering responsive design across all devices, was key to the project’s success.

Design Process

Client Consultation & User Research: Conducted in-depth user research, including surveys and interviews, to identify the specific needs, behaviors, and pain points.
Branding & Visual Consistency: Adapted Boardmatch’s established brand identity by incorporating existing color palettes, typography, and design elements.
Information Architecture & Navigation Design: Strategically designed the information architecture to improve user flow and task efficiency. Developed clear navigation hierarchies, ensuring that users could easily access key features.
Responsive UI & Component Development: Leveraged modern web technologies, including HTML5 and CSS3, to design and develop responsive, modular components. Focused on scalability and cross-device compatibility.
Salesforce Experience Builder Integration: Integrated the custom-built components into Salesforce Experience Builder, creating a dynamic and intuitive platform.

Conclusion

Developing the Boardmatch Training Booking Platform was a multifaceted project that required careful planning and execution. We created a user-friendly website tailored to the needs of non-profit board members, providing an accessible and engaging platform that offers to the users easy access to courses and support.

The redesigned Boardmatch platform received highly positive feedback, with a 25% increase in board placements and a 20% rise in user sign-ups due to the streamlined onboarding process. The improved user experience, responsive design, and cohesive branding significantly enhanced navigation and engagement, making the platform more efficient for both non-profits and professionals.
